You know that no one promises life will be easy, but you didn’t expect it to be this hard. You feel stuck in anxious thoughts and perfectionism and feel like all the rules you’ve created have trapped you. You long for freedom, deeper meaning, and purpose in your life and are ready to learn how to live life more effortlessly and intentionally. Your mind is constantly racing. You’re scared to make actual changes but if you could think your way to a solution you would but instead feel trapped inside this swirl of thoughts that are repetitive and exhausting.
The truth is that no amount of thinking or trying to do things ‘perfectly’ is going to help. The secret lies in learning to connect to your intuitive self which means tuning into your somatic experience through mindfulness and grounding. First, let’s educate you about the patterns you’re in and why they’re showing up, and together process any trauma and develop somatic awareness in order to help you step into your most peace-filled authentic self.
So let’s work together!
Current Approach
I’m aware therapy is a financial and emotional investment. This is why my approach is aimed at getting to the heart of what matters—quickly and gently. I typically recommend weekly sessions for the first three months to build momentum, with the option to reduce frequency as progress unfolds. Many clients begin spacing out sessions after 2–3 months and others prefer to maintain a weekly or biweekly cadence.
Background & Experience
I completed my graduate practicum at Capital Area Mental Health Center, working primarily with clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I also have experience working in court settings, with court-mandated clients, adolescents at risk of recidivism, and individuals experiencing homelessness. Additionally, I worked within an employee assistance program and an assessment center focused on high-need populations.
Prior to returning to mental health, I founded and operated a Pilates studio for over a decade. That experience deeply informs my somatic and body-based orientation to therapy today.
I'm a somatic psychotherapist who works holistically with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, identity development, and life transitions. I also specialize in supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community, providing a safe, affirming space for exploration, healing, and growth.
My clinical focus includes anxiety in its many forms—phobias, OCD, health anxiety, rumination—as well as chronic symptoms/pain and trauma. My theoretical approach is heavily influenced by Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, breath and body-based practices.
I hold certifications in:
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)
Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET)
Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method
Reiki (Levels I, II & Master)
Fully Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor
My therapeutic style is collaborative, curious, grounded, gently direct and sometimes playful. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered to heal at your own pace. I also understand how important the therapeutic relationship is and that our communication and ability to co-regulate is as impactful for you as is the things we discuss and process.
Holistic healing is the lens through which I see and support you. I believe that healing is possible for everyone, that it’s never too late to begin, and that you already hold the wisdom and capacity within yourself to create a meaningful and fulfilling life. My role is to walk alongside you as you rediscover that truth for yourself.
Personal
Healing and personal growth and development are at the core of who I am. I developed debilitating depression at an early age and first began therapy over two decades ago. Therapy and holistic approaches like intuitive art, dance, movement, somatic awareness, breath, and spirituality literally saved my life, and is why I’m so passionate about taking a holistic approach with my clients. I have a daily movement practice, like to dance around my house and take meditative walks. I’m sensitive and have big feelings. I love to love and I love to feel. I also have a 4-year-old kitty who I found outside when she was 4 weeks old who eventually jumped in my car and refused to let me leave her outside a minute more. I love being in nature, reading, writing, dancing, playing piano, and spending time with those I love. I grew up in Houston and have lived in Austin since 2005. Also, I love Taylor Swift!
CALAMARI
Callie is my 4-year-old feral kitten turned lap cat. She’s a mix of sweet and mischievous. She loves to hold hands and steal food off my plate (her favorites are salmon, fried chicken, and chips). You might catch a glimpse of her with a case of the zoomies behind me on a virtual call.
