Meet Kiernan Kelly, Graduate-Level Therapist

Hi there! My name is Kiernan Kelly and I’m excited to be a new graduate student intern here at Carlisle Collective. Through our affordable care program, I’ll be providing grounded and goal-oriented low-cost therapy as I finish my final year at Texas Tech University under supervision. I work with teens, adults, and couples who are navigating anxiety, past trauma, overwhelm, transitions, and the emotional weight of daily life.

I know firsthand that it can be hard to get a feel for whether or not a potential therapist is the right fit for you! Here are a few things you should know about my approach to healing and how our partnership might look:

  1. A Holistic & Relational Approach

Life continues to move faster and faster, and it’s really hard to connect with ourselves and others when we’re in a constant state of hurry. My hope is that our sessions will be a safe place to slow down and feel grounded in the present moment, which starts with a trust-based relationship. It’s very important to me that you feel heard and understood, not just for your main challenges, but as a unique and whole individual.

  2. Understanding Feeling “Stuck”

You might be seeking therapy to process difficult life experiences, reduce unwanted symptoms, or you might just be feeling “stuck”. I believe that when we’re able to name and understand our challenges, we relieve uncertainty and regain the power to decide how we respond. Through a therapeutic lens called acceptance and commitment therapy, we can uncover any repetitive thoughts or difficult emotions and “unhook” by creating distance and cultivating self-compassion.

  3. Breaking Old Patterns & Living Within Values

What drives you to overcome adversity? What values or beliefs are central to who you are? I love getting to know what is most meaningful to my clients, as that fuels our desire to work through difficult things to experience lasting change. My approach is collaborative, so we’ll work together to create goals and define coping skills that feel true to who you are.

If this approach resonates with you and you’d like to connect, I’d love to hear your story. Feel free to schedule an initial free consultation on my page, I can’t wait to meet you!
